Westad Industri AS will take care of the environment, including prevention of environmental pollution arising from our activities in the production of valves. Westad Industri AS environmental management system shall ensure that we:
• Monitor and meet environmental regulations. • Meet statutory requirements and specific requirements from our customers. • Actively work to reduce the company's environmental to a minimum wherever possible and in accordance with customer's specifications. • During the execution of services and maintenance, Westad will reduce the use of chemicals. • Set environmental goals for the company to ensure continuous improvements. Target attainment is reviewed in the management review. • Perform internal audits and management review to ensure that the system is effective. It is important for Westad Industri AS that: • The use of non renewable resources is minimised. • Accidental contamination will not happen. • Waste is processed correctly. We reduce the use of unnecessary packaging. • We place demands on our suppliers.
Environmental understanding is central amongst our employees. Westad Industri AS has an open policy towards employees, customers, suppliers, owners, and the general public in terms of our environmental impact.
During 2009 the certification process to the Environmental management system ISO 14001 was started and implemented. We received the ISO 14001 certificate from DNV in March 2010.
